Professional Development Grants
AWC's mission is to meet the professional and educational needs of our members. One way we accomplish this is by offering professional development grants to our members. We are now accepting applications from members who are looking for funding for communications-related seminars, workshops, training, etc. Complete the grant application below and send it to Kathy Oberheizer, Professional Development Chair, at kamcfee@verizon.net .
We are now accepting applications for the 2007-2008 year. Members can receive up to $200 towards the cost of conferences, workshops, continuing education courses and more!
Each spring, our chapter is pleased to present two awards to aid and honor communications students:
The SAWC Student of the Year Award is given to a deserving member of the Illinois State University student chapter in April. Applications for 2008 will be available in March. Our 2007 award recipient was Sarah Howe.
The $500 AWC Student Scholarship is awarded to a SAWC junior, senior or graduate student who is studying in the field of communication at Illinois State University. We will accept scholarship applications in early 2008. The $500 scholarship is non-renewable and limited to tuition, books and fees. Congratulations to Sarah Howe, our 2007 Student Scholarship winner!
